Schellie is a self cultured deviant who believes in the art of feeling and still embodies poor craftsmanship in it. Always seeking consciousness, authentic experiences, and ways to feel and evoke feelings in others, art and world exploration are her natural passions.
Schellie’s latest body of work (aside from her award winning photography work in the wedding industry) is an ongoing series of digital photo montages focused on dreaminess and visual extremes – pairing clean cut lines with overwhelmingly busy patterns and ethereal skies with a feminine softness.
Most of her photo montages are self portraits that are created self sufficiently but sometimes she collaborates with her partner who takes base images of her. Often times her pieces are coupled with short verse poetry or lyrics from pop music while others stand alone.
She draws her inspiration from pop culture, human interactions, and introspectiveness.
